Today I have received one call from one of our clients that,
By mistake they have created one link
Collection into their primary server (the link collection is from top sites
That means it lock) and now they want to delete it. But the question is how to delete
That's because there is no delete option there.
Hmm what should we do now? Ok got the solution on the net.
- Download this tool (WMI Administrative Tools) from [http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24045] On any client machine and install it.
- Run WMI object browser (part of the WMI Administrative Tools) , and connect to the SCCM server. The object browser starts in an internet explorer window and tries to connect to The default WMI namespace on the client computer.
4. Click on connect and put in appropriate credentials to connect to your site servers WMI (My machine I am using login as current user as because I am using my ID as an admin account).
5. Select the namespace corresponding to your site code and click ok.
6. Now choose the SMS_Collection from Available classes and added it to the browse object list. Click ok
7. You get another window where you have to choose the collection which holds the collection link to be deleted. (My case the collection ID is CSG00018). After that when you click ok you will get all the properties of that collection.
8. Now expand the object tree of SMS_CollectToSubCollect_a. SubCollection and select the trouble making collection
9. After choosing this collection you can see properties in this collection on the left side.
Change the property “OwnedByThisSite” from false to true, save your change with the disk icon (marked with the arrow) and refresh the collection tree in your configuration manager console. Now you are able to delete the instance of this collection. When deleted you should set the property to false afterwards, to get not in Trouble with the central site .
